Stayed one night and everything was great... The service was fantastic and the lady at check-in was extremely helpful about the area. The room was wonderful, spacious, clean with a fireplace, a small kitchen/dining area and an awesome shower. Within easy walking of restaurants, casinos, shopping and beach. You don't want to miss out on this hotel. Basecamp Hotel is hands down the coolest hotel I've ever seen. My boyfriend and I stayed in the "Great Indoors Room". It had an actual tent over the bed, a picnic table, and a campfire... oh and a TV! ;) They really go all out with the camping theme. You'll notice it all over the hotel. The other rooms have awesome camping themes too.
You can walk anywhere from here, the beach, casinos, food, shopping and more...Its only a short walk to Nevada Beach- one of the nicest beaches in South Lake Tahoe- less than a one minute walk to Harvey's Casino, and a 5-10 minute walk to the Heavenly shopping centers, gondola ride, and restaurants.
Make sure you check out their brand new Beer Garden (even if you're not staying there). They have many beers on tap, fire pits (and s'mores kits) and a 16 person in ground hot tub! " great reviews - map

Stumbled upon this gem of a hotel after staying in other more-expensive-and -wouldn't return-to-other hotels in South Lake Tahoe. I was pleasantly surprised by the remodeled rooms, jacuzzi in room, gas fireplaces,and very comfy bed and bedding (down comforter found in armoir!).
